EcoOlive Pillar Blend is a blend specifically developed for making pillar candles. EcoOlive is a 100% natural blend of predominantly olive wax with natural additives to enhance burn and fragrance. This candle wax blend was developed for making pillar candles, votive candles, and other floor candles. EcoOlive is biodegradable, vegan-friendly, and contains no palm oil or paraffin. EcoOlive provides excellent fragrance release and gives candles a smooth surface finish with a subtle sheen. This wax has a melting point of approximately 62°C and a solidification point of approximately 55°C. It is recommended to slowly heat the wax indirectly in a double boiler until it becomes liquid. To do this, heat a pan with a little water. The wax is then melted in a metal bowl or a second pan in a double boiler. This method ensures even melting and prevents the wax from overheating. For candle dyes, the wax should be heated to about 65°C (149°F). Then add the colorant and stir until dissolved. Add the fragrance according to the fragrance manufacturer's instructions. Pour the liquid wax into the mold. Depending on the size and shape of the candle, the poured wax should be about 60°C (140°F). For best results, molds should be at least room temperature, although preheating them to about 45-50°C (113-122°F) can be beneficial. EcoOlive is formulated so that only a single pour is necessary. However, for larger candles, you may need to re-pour the candle to achieve an optimal surface area. Candles should be left undisturbed at room temperature for 48 hours before use.
